Before configuring lights for Emergency Mode, ensure that the following system-level requirements are met:
- Spacing, quantity, and restore state (color and intensity) of the Ketra emergency light sources must meet requirements for emergency light levels.
- The backup AC power source must produce a sinusoidal (sine) wave. Some inverters produce a square wave; this will not work for Ketra products.
- To use KetraNet Mesh lamps and fixtures (i.e., anything that does not connect to an N3 Satellite) as emergency lighting, ensure that the products have a means of losing power for 2 seconds before restoring in Emergency Mode.
- By requiring a power-cycle event to enter Emergency Mode, the KetraNet Mesh system can respond to an emergency without relying on wireless communication.
- If the backup system switches to emergency power in under 2 seconds, a shunt relay can be used to enforce a 2-second delay. (Typically this is not necessary in systems relying on generators.)
